Doctors have approached the Health Ministry and MCC over procedural issues in NEET PG counselling, seeking intervention to resolve the matter.
The representation was submitted by the United Doctors Association (UDF) National Chairperson and President, Dr Lakshya Mittal, after the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) announced an extension of the choice filling process for Round 1 of NEET PG Counselling for the academic year 2025 until further notice.
The association has referred to the ongoing delay in the NEET PG counselling process, which has led to widespread uncertainty among thousands of postgraduate medical aspirants across the country.
The delay in the NEET PG counselling process has led to widespread uncertainty among thousands of postgraduate medical aspirants across the country. The association has requested the Ministry and MCC to consider reopening the NEET PG counselling registration portal and the NRI quota document submission facility for a limited period.
This measure would ensure transparency, fairness, and optimal utilisation of available postgraduate seats while safeguarding the interests of deserving candidates.
Students are advised to keep a close eye on the MCC website for updates on the NEET PG counselling process. They should also be prepared to complete the registration process and submit the required documents as soon as the portal is reopened.
Several students and aspirants informed us that their registration remained incomplete or they could not send the required documents in time. I think that when the counselling has not even started, they should get a chance to correct those issues and therefore, the portal should be reopened.
