MCC has extended NEET PG 2025 counselling round 1 due to a revised seat matrix by the National Medical Commission (NMC). Check statewise updates on MD, MS seat allotment news.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced an extension for the NEET PG 2025 round 1 choice filling and locking process. Candidates seeking MD and MS admissions under both All India Quota (AIQ) and state quota seats must now wait for further updates, as the counselling process has been temporarily postponed.
The extension comes amid a revision of the seat matrix by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The delay has affected thousands of medical aspirants across India, leaving students anxious about the admission process.
The MCC stated that the postponement is due to the NMC revising the seat matrix for several medical colleges. This revision has led to an indefinite delay in the round 1 seat allotment results.
The authorities have confirmed that the counselling process will resume only after the revised seat matrix is finalised and published.
The MCC has not yet announced the revised seat allotment dates for round 1 of NEET PG 2025. Candidates are advised to keep their documents ready and regularly check the MCC website and their respective state Directorate of Medical Education portals.
Hospitals nationwide are experiencing staff shortages as many students have yet to join due to the ongoing delay in counselling.
Candidates should review their preferred colleges and courses while the choice filling process is extended. Ensuring all documents are ready in advance will help avoid last-minute issues once the counselling schedule resumes.
Both AIQ and state quota candidates must stay updated on official notifications to avoid missing any important announcements regarding seat allotment.
