NEET PG Counselling 2025: For many candidates, the biggest challenge during NEET PG counselling is the lack of uniformity in timelines. In earlier cycles — most notably in 2024 — delays were caused by last-minute revisions in seat matrices by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG 2025) counselling process is administered through a combined central and state mechanism. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) oversees the all India quota (AIQ), deemed universities, and central institutions, while individual state medical counselling authorities manage admissions to state quota seats and state-run institutions.
With the counselling season underway, all eyes are now on state-wise updates, as the pace of announcements traditionally varies significantly across regions.
Such changes often pushed states to postpone their schedules, even as some had already released merit lists or opened applications. As aspirants prepare for NEET PG 2025 counselling, a similar pattern of staggered updates is expected.
Given this variability, candidates are advised to monitor both the MCC portal and their respective state counselling websites daily.
Experts also emphasise the importance of keeping all documents — particularly internship completion certificates, NEET PG scorecards, category certificates, and provisional registration — ready well in advance.
