NEET PG 2025 students have alleged a massive privacy breach after their personal data was leaked and sold online for Rs 3,599. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has denied any link to the issue.
The issue came to light after several students took to social media platforms to express their concerns about receiving calls and messages from admission counsellors offering secure MD or MS seats for sale.
The students alleged that their personal data, including names, phone numbers, email addresses, and NEET PG scores, was leaked and sold online for Rs 3,599.
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has denied any link to the issue. A senior NBEMS official told The Indian Express that the role of NBEMS is limited only to conducting the NEET PG exam and declaring the result.
The official added that the data is shared in password-protected pen drives and the password is shared separately in a sealed envelope with the MCC.
The official claimed that the data might have leaked at any level beyond NBEMS, as NBEMS maintains strict confidentiality and protocols for data security and sanctity.
The alleged privacy breach has raised concerns among NEET PG students, who are worried about the security of their personal data.
The incident has also highlighted the need for stricter data protection measures to prevent such breaches in the future.
NEET PG students should be aware of the alleged privacy breach and take necessary precautions to protect their personal data.
Students should also be cautious when receiving calls and messages from admission counsellors and verify the authenticity of such communications.
