Rajasthan government has announced uniform fee structure for postgraduate (PG) medical courses in private medical colleges across state, fixing annual fee for clinical courses at ₹32.5 lakh from 2025 academic session.
Decision follows several complaints about excessive fee collection, is being seen as a major relief for medical aspirants. Until last year, PG fees in private medical colleges ranged from ₹45 lakh to over ₹1 crore depending on course and seat type.
According to government’s approved structure, new annual fee is ₹2 lakh for pre-clinical, ₹6 lakh for para-clinical, and ₹32.5 lakh for clinical PG courses. This applies to both government and management quota seats in all private medical colleges in Rajasthan.
State’s Fee Regulatory Committee reviewed existing structure and directed private colleges to strictly adhere to approved rates. Colleges found charging above notified amount will have to refund excess with 12% annual interest. State government has warned that repeated violations could lead to withdrawal of affiliation or transfer of students.
Several college managements, however, have expressed concern that new cap may affect financial sustainability of private medical institutions. Some representatives are reportedly in touch with state government, seeking a revision of the order.
The revised fee order will be applicable for admissions under NEET PG counselling 2025 session once final notification is issued by Rajasthan govt.
